National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - 2023

Somerville was honored to have esteemed guests Ethan Pasquayak, Rixford Cardinal and Utin Cardinal join us in Acheson for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day. In addition to sharing their traditional drumming and singing, Rixford and Utin also shared traditional Indigenous dances. The events were live streamed to Somerville offices and work sites across Canada. Somerville team members greatly appreciated learning about, the significance of  Rixford’s and Utin’s Regalia as well as about their community and family members from Saddle Lake Cree Nation who have inspired them to pursue their passion for traditional Indigenous singing, dancing and drumming.
