Robert B. Somerville provides a comprehensive and fully integrated range of infrastructure services across Canada. We plan, build and maintain oil and gas pipelines, power and other utilities systems and related facilities. Renewable and sustainable energy projects are an important and growing part of our business.

AltaGas – Bonnyville Pipe Replacement
Project is to replace existing steel mains and services in the Town of Bonnyville Area 2. Area is primarily residential with some commercial buildings. Project involves installation of 12,597m of PE mains up to 6" and 424 services, with 147 of those being commercial. New mains and services will primarily be installed by directional drilling. ENMAX – Downtown Calgary Transmission Reinforcement Project (DCTRP)
Somerville was contracted by ENMAX Power Corporation to construct a new underground single circuit 138kV transmission line (138-2.84L) from existing ENMAX No.2 Substation south-east of the city, to existing ENMAX No.8 substation downtown. This circuit was 5.3km long and involved a combination of open cut and microtunnel bore methods. Expertech is the exclusive infrastructure provider and a subsidiary of Bell Canada and Bell Aliant in Northern Ontario and Quebec. Robert B. Line 3 Replacement – Horizontal Directional Drilling
Somerville was contracted to complete three crossings for Enbridge Pipelines as part of the Line 3 Replacement project. This included two crossings in Manitoba and one in Saskatchewan, both NPS 36. Hwy 409 HDD Crossing Pipeline Project
As part of Imperial Oil's Pipeline Integrity Program, IOL identified an anomaly in a section of their pipeline under the travelled portion of Highway 409. To repair this section of pipeline they contracted Somerville to replace 276m of NPS12 by HDD.
