Overview

Somerville is seeking to hire a Cost Control Coordinator.  The successful candidate will assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of all aspects of project controls for assigned projects, as well provide administrative support to project tracking to generate invoices for services delivered.

 This position works closely with the project team to ensure policies and procedures and cost controls are adhered to. 

This is an in-office position, some travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

> Prepare reports from business systems on a regular routine basis.

> Manage and update cost control tools and coding for projects utilizing standard systems i.e.  MS Office.

> Monitor project cost performance to provide a transparent assessment of critical project performances and reporting to Management.

> Manage scope changes by maintaining the scope change database and compare trends and scope changes against the control budget.

> Liaise with a variety of stakeholders on a day-to-day basis including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Project Managers, Managers and Clients to reconcile cost and commercial activities.

> Prepare and submit monthly revenue forecasts based on actuals and projections.

> Assist with internal monthly project reviews and reports.

> Assist with the creation, implementation and maintenance of Project Control Procedures and Processes, in particular cost control.

Qualifications

> College or University graduate preferably in Business, Project Management or Office Administration.

> Minimum two years experience in project billing and administration and/or financial preferably in the construction industry.

> Proficient with MS Office, including advanced working knowledge of Excel.

> Quality focused with strong attention to detail while maintaining a “whole project” perspective.

> Strong communication and influencing skills both written and verbal.

> Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.

> Self motivated individual with strong problems solving skills.

> Organized, comfortable multi-tasking, willing to take on new challenges.

> Team player.
