AltaGas - Bonnyville Pipe Replacement

Project is to replace existing steel mains and services in the Town of Bonnyville Area 2. Area is primarily residential with some commercial buildings. Project involves installation of 12,597m of PE mains up to 6" and 424 services, with 147 of those being commercial. New mains and services will primarily be installed by directional drilling. Also involved with the replacement of service lines is to move any existing inside gas meter to the outside of the building. Inside gas meter work will consist of primarily residential houses with 200 series meters, and may involve some commercial rotary meters. Included in this was moving the existing gas meter from inside the Bonnyville Hospital to a new location outside, which involved installing new 6 steel piping and completing safely the necessary welding inside the hospital. About 20% of the mains were installed through an area of town that had a lot of large boulders in the ground.
