Robert B. Somerville was contracted to complete 3 directional drills as part of a new NPS 24 pipeline being constructed in Ottawa. Somerville utilized the DD185 to complete a 300 meter crossing under Shea Road, as well as drill the pilot hole and ream a 500 meter crossing under Graham's Road. The DD440 was utilized to complete the 800 m Highway 416 crossing through rock that had an unconfined compressive strength of more than 25,000 psi.
