The project consisted of 43 2.3 MW Siemens wind turbines. The Talbot Wind farm is owned by RES Canada and Enbridge. The project produces an annual yield of 300,000 MWh which corresponds to an annual consumption of around 33,000 households. Robert B. Somerville Co. Limited was contracted by RES Canada to construct approximately 30km of site access roads, 43 roadentrances, improvements to existing roads, watercourse crossingsand the site lay down area for the Talbot Wind Farm project. The access roads consisted of a layer of geo-grid with 8" of granular 'B' and 4" of granular 'A'. The roads wereused by the foundation contractor, cranes to assemble the turbines and for maintenance in the future.
