The Twin NPS 24 Jet Fuel Pipeline Project is the next stage in the ongoing expansion and upgrade of the jet fuel supply, storage and delivery program being undertaken by Pearson International Fuel Facilities Corporation. This project includes the construction of 1,800 m of twin NPS 24" Jet Fuel Pipeline. The pipeline extended from a future bulk fuel storage facility scheduled to be built in 2012 located between the interesection of Elmbank Road and Network Road and Highway 409 in the City of Mississauga (referred to as The Area 6C Tank Farm). The pipeline is on Airport lands controlled by the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA). The pipeline was connected on either side of an existing pipeline previously installed that crossed beneath Highway 409, additional new pipe will proceed south westerly parallel to Highway 409 on GTAA land, crossing the Viscount Road off ramp and continuing along the off ramp to Airport Road, west along Airport Road, crossing Airport Road (also controlled by GTAA), through additional parking lots controlled by the GTAA, ending at a connection to the existing system at the boundary of Lester B Pearson International Airport. All previous installed sections were completed by Robert B. Somerville Co. Limited under separate contracts starting in 1999.
